Black Coarse Thread Dry Wall Screws

BLACK COARSE THREAD DRYWALL SCREWS

Reliable Fixings for Plasterboard and Drylining Applications

Designed for fast installation and strong holding power when fixing plasterboard to timber.

BLACK COARSE THREAD DRYWALL SCREWS

Black coarse-thread drywall screws are specifically designed for securing plasterboard or insulation boards to timber studs or wooden battens. The coarse thread provides a stronger bite and superior holding power in timber compared to fine-thread screws, while also allowing faster installation due to fewer threads per inch.

These screws are engineered to penetrate quickly and provide a neat, flush finish without damaging the plasterboard surface, making them ideal for professional drylining and interior construction projects.

Typically manufactured from hardened carbon steel, often grade C1022, the screws feature a black phosphate coating that offers light corrosion resistance while helping prevent rust from wet joint compounds, plaster or paint during installation.

The screws feature a bugle head design that allows them to sink smoothly into the plasterboard surface, creating a clean, flush finish without tearing the paper layer of the board.

A Phillips No.2 (PH2) drive recess ensures strong engagement between the screw and driver bit, enabling reliable performance during high-speed installation using power tools.

Each screw is also equipped with a sharp 25° needle or super sharp point which enables rapid penetration into timber studs or battens without the need for pre-drilling.

Typical Applications

Black coarse-thread drywall screws are primarily used for fixing plasterboard to timber studs or wooden battens in internal wall and ceiling installations. They are commonly used in drylining projects, insulation board installation and general interior construction where plasterboard must be securely fastened to timber frameworks. Their strong grip and fast penetration make them a reliable fixing choice for a wide range of professional building and renovation applications.
